Speak Out: 26 Acts of Kindness

Will you participate in 26 acts of kindness in honor of those killed on Dec. 14?

Former Today Show host Ann Curry has sparked a movement through Twitter called #26acts, in part to bring about something positive from tragedy. In honor of the 20 children and 6 adults brutally murdered on Friday, Dec. 14, in Newtown, Conn., she is asking that people commit 26 acts of kindness.  People have responded in heartwarming, inspiring ways. After a random act of kindness, they are tweeting back to Ann what they have done.  Here are a few posted so far, with more coming in every few minutes: "Money is tight, but purchasing Christmas gifts for a 14y/o girl in India we have known for 8yrs. Snellville Gives: Community Bulletin Board

Do you have a need? Are you looking for a place to volunteer? Check here first.

Let's face it: the economy still isn't great. So many families in Snellville are in need, and many often don't know where to turn for help.  At the same time, others are doing well, and are looking for an opportunity to just give back. So if you're need or want to give back, share it with Snellville on this community bulletin board.  You can do this in a number of ways. You can post an event if you hosting a fundraiser on our event page. I will then highlight the event and add it to this post. If you are in need -- whether you need a job, help with a bill, some handyman help or even just some prayer -- post to our announcements page.  If you don't feel like posting in those two places, just add a comment to this story.  Often there is …
