On the article Is Declining to Be Searched, When You Did Nothing Wrong, Disorderly Conduct?

ReplyYes it is. And that's a lesser charge that you could be facing. I don't understand why so many people feel violated if they REALLY have nothing to hide. If you're in a store wearing new pants that still have the tag on them, purchased or not, use your own common sense. LP is there to protect the store from, you ready for this?, LOSS PREVENTION. Under these circumstances had you resisted you most likely would have found yourself on the ground in a fetal position after having been tased. And the officer or store employee would have been right. I work in law enforcement and it amazes & amuses me hoy so many people scream "Civil Rights" when the police enforce the Law, but then who's the first person you call when your home or car gets broken into ? When somebody fraudulantly usesu your ID or credit card ? When somebody stals your MacBook out of your car while at the mall because you didn't have the common sense to take it off the seat ? Yeah, I'm the one you're going to call. Funny how your opinion about Law Enforcement changes like that. As long as it's not you huh ?

ReplyAgreed. I would not par for YouTube or any form of social media. There are too many free sites to choose from. Let them make money from advertisers.

ReplyThanks Sharon. The clouds are as local as it gets, right from my own front yard. The wisteria shot is also from my yard. I'll look at what I have & see what else would be more appropriate.

ReplyI guess I'm old fashioned. I do subscribe to Comcast (& I'm happy with it) but no other services. I'm perfectly content surfing my HD channels & DVR'ing shows for later. Between what's on, what I record, & "On Demand", I'm never at a loss for something to watch.

Today's teachers are amazing ! I thought my job as a 911 operator/dispatcher was hard. I'd much rather be doing what I'm doing that have your job. Our jobs do have some similarities though. The police, like teachers are expected to raise the children of today. Teach them right from wrong, Try to explain the concept of respect. Over the years I've learned a lot about the difference of where you're working & the effect on your salary. A few years ago I retired from the 2nd largest 911 agency in the state. The size of the County and it's population has a direct correlation to how much they invest in their future. When i came to work where I'm at now I took a 50% (no exageration) cut in pay going to a much smaller agency. Smaller has it's benefits, but I'm not going to hijack this rant to get into that. Kim, I know you, and the job you do. My hat's off to you for your dedication !
