ReplyI applaud their proactiveness. It is a very complicated legislative process up here and sometimes things we want passed don't get passed for political reasons so I am happy they are not waiting. I am putting together several task forces (including education, housing, criminal justice, etc.) in the coming month or so and would invite you to participate in these discussions as well as the Chamber, whom we will be reaching out to.

ReplyI'm pleased that the Gwinnett Chamber is addressing this issue. However, this is a statewide issue that needs awareness and this rally and HB 781 is meant to address the STATE's problem with the issue of foreclosure. I look forward to working with the Chamber in the near future on issues such as these.

Thank you all for your comments. There was never an issue about other Gwinnett representatives representing their constituents----the issue was specifically with me and why I hadn't had one yet prior to session but seemed to always be promoting the DeKalb House Delegation meetings (which, as I explained above, I'm Secretary so that's my job). Some seemed to be confused and thought I had the authority to make the whole Gwinnett County Delegation hold a joint meeting like we do in DeKalb and I had to explain that DeKalb's Charter is WAY different than Gwinnett on that issue.
