Police: Woman Drunkenly Chases Man With Axe, Breaks Doorframe

The woman apparently starts to break things when she drinks, according to the homeowner.

A 30-something-year-old woman allegedly chased a man around his house with an axe earlier this month in a drunken rage.

According to the Gwinnett County Police report, the woman was staying at the man's house located off Bowman Way in unincorporated Snellville.

On a recent Thursday, she had been drunk all day and was breaking things, which is what she tends to do when she's under the influence, the man told police. Since the front door was closed, she started to break down the wooden doorframe, tearing the door off its hinges.

She then allegedly grabbed an axe and was in the living room and starting swinging it at him and chasing him. He was able to get it from her and call police.

The officer spoke with the woman and could tell she was heavily intoxicated. She apparently didn't know what the man and officer were talking about. She said she was upset because, she said, she made a police report about the man abusing her and she wanted the police to arrest him.

She was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and criminal trespassing.
